This is going to be different. The top was salvaged from a finishing room fire at the Martin factory in 1947 (I think that was the year). It is Adirondack spruce and will be finished in the state you see it. The Back and sides will be Honduras Rosewood and it will be built to 1934 Martin D-28 specs (or very close to them). The owner wants to play it with no finish on it for a month and then it will only get two coats of nitro.

Are you going to close the joint on the top where it opened up? That sound board will have a heck of a story! Very cool, Tim!

Yes, it's already done. I flexed it slightly and the glue was so fragile it just popped right apart. A couple passes to joint it, a little HHG and it's back in business. Not sure what we're going to do, if anything, with the rosette. It had a thickness of .122 and the owner wanted down to .093 and so it is. I'm biting my finger nails.
