Thanks for the support guys , Yes hoping it will be done by end of March, It's a 30th Birthday gift (April Birthday) for my girlfriends son( Irish Heritage, Philadelphia Firefighter) I got a cool Trinity symbol inlay in white / paua blue green abalone from DePaule. I also have a couple really small 5mm clovers in the blue/ green abalone to use somewhere, havent decided where yet. I am using the stock KMG White pearl dot markers for the fretboard as its already routed for the dots.

Any recommendations for a finish are welcome !!, leaning towards Zpoxy pore fill and then Nitro as I have the painting equipment and experience (Race cars/ Harleys, model jets etc.)

Got the first application of Z Poxy on , probably will take at leats two more ,it really makes the wood pop ! Beautiful wood colors. Finish wlii be Behlens instrument laquer.

Well moving along slowly, Three coats of brushed on Deft Laquer using Tony's method from the video. Takes a little getting used to you have to lay the finish on and not mess with it, I tend to over work it, by the third coat I got used to it. I will level sand it and then apply 2-3 more coats hopefuly it will be ready for final sanding/polishing at that point. I also forgot to mask/tape off the bridge location on the top. To late now, I will just have to strip it to bare wood to glue the bridge on after I'm done. Picture below:

Hello Peter, Yes that is a R/C Thermal duration sailplane called an Xplorer, (the orange one with the sleek fuselage and tailfin on the countertop) its made in Bulgaria by NAN models. Its carbon fiber/ glass / kevlar haolow moulded construction,with a 3.5 meter wingspan. It's great flying sailplane. Are you in the R/C hobby? I know there are several guys on this forum, including Ken that fly R/C. I fly mostly Turbine powered jets (200 mph ,kerosene fueled with minature turbine engines) but enjoy the sailplanes too as it is where started in the R/C hobby. Got into the guitar building because the jets are very $$$$$!! Jack.
