Solid or Laminated sides? Ribbon lining style (kerfing) - rim profiling, contouring and the logic for those choices

No binding, no kerfing, solid rim and sides. ?

(I'm not advacating using this method, but it may have some merit, I'll leave that up to the experts, which I am not!)

AH, he's using my Hour Glass end wedge....I like his narrower version. I need to make a template for this, though, it is very tough to get it right.
