There's a threaded brass insert in the arm for the stop bolt --- you could even use a thumb tack to have a slight bump at the gage.

Ken, thanks for your follow-up reply.

A thumb tack makes a whole lot more sense than a carriage bolt, for sure. Same result and lots easier to install. And a threaded brass insert even I can understand.

Nice, I think I'll redo mine with something with a round head on it. Carriage bolt I have.
