There is a vid on this page of him using and describing his scraper. Has anyone here used it?

Carruth 'ultimate scraper'

Re: Carruth 'ultimate scraper'
I have not, but there was a thread on this at another forum and people were raving about it. A few guys said they hesitated to buy it because of the price, but after reading about it, they got it and then they too loved it. I was thinking about picking one up, but I have not gotten around to it and binding is a long way off for me right now, so I will probably wait. Based on what I read though, it is a great tool, if a bit pricey.

Well at $30 it is pricier than a regular card scraper for sure, but man I get tired of sharpening every 15 minutes. Thanks for the input Tony.

No problem Dave. I am sure you will be happy with it. Another added bonus, apart from how well it cuts(according to what I read) is that your hands don't get as tired because you don't have to hold a bend in the scraper.

I bought one and I think it's great. A little more complex for sharpening, but you don't need to sharpen as often as with the flat scrapers. I like the rounded ends for getting at small stuff.

Dan - does the scraper actually have to be ground each time it is sharpened? could it be flattened for instance on a stone?
