Just put the last coat of Zpoxy on so hopefully tomorrow and can clean that up and look forward to french polish. Moving slow, but life happens. Maybe this weekend will slow down enough for me to get started on it.

Looking forward to hearing your ubass. Can you say more about the strings like where you got them. I thought it would be interesting to try them on the harp side of my uke.

John, I bought the strings from Road Toad. Owen Holt there seems to be the one who developed the Ubass with the use of the poly strings. The are some newer strings on the market (the name of them has slipped my mind at the moment) that are said to not stretch so much and stay in tune longer. The down side for me though is that they lose the upright bass sound of the ubass. I bought the tuners from Road Toad as well. Because of the thickness of the strings regular bass tuners don't work, or atleast that's what I'm told. So Idon't know if that will affect you, John, using them. Would be interesting to hear if you do use them.

Dave, may the best team (who happen to be the Ravens) win.

What's the tuning on a UBass? I have a electric bass player buddy who is interested.

Standard bass tuning EADG. I'm not much of a bass player but they are alot of fun. Lots of videos up on youtube. They have a great upright bass kind of sound when using the poly strings made by Pahoehoe. Not much on acoustic volume but sound great plugged into a little practice amp. I plan on using a K n K acoustic bass pick up on mine.
