saddle slot thickness variations

Here's one of mine about thirty years old -- Way back then, Don Teeter convinced me that a wide saddle is the way to go, intonation to this day is spot on.

Moving right along with questions - - - I can purchase HSS end mills in either 2-flute or 4-flute configurations from Grizzly. Not much difference in price between them. My inclination is to use a 4-flute end mill for saddle slots unless the 2-flute ones work better on wood. If anyone has any experience/guidance to share, I'll welcome it. Thanks, folks.
