scarf joint location.

Post by Paul C » Tue Dec 18, 2012 8:03 pm

I did a practice cut on this 1" Pb. The line on right represents the nut.the line on left is 2" from that point. My tuners would be 2 3/4" from nut. Is this ok.

Here's a sure way to get it right --- this plan is almost identical the the fixture KMG uses

Thanks Ken. I am definately going to construct that jig. I cut that joint from cumpianos book but used a bandsaw. the instructions were pretty staight forward. It just seems the tuners should be closer to the nut compared to the my other guitars that I measured. And his measurements dont line up with the headstock measurements. so I thought maybe I missed something.

I know I have thought about for a year and half. The first neck I made I free handed that cut but not any more
