I will, this summer, be looking for a way to run the water around the barn/shop.

Dang Dave, a bummer. I don't think that one day spike in humidity is going to hurt you....even longer, just bring it back down.

Perhaps a French drain around the structure is in order? Also longer drain pipes on the gutters to get the agua away from the building.

Good suggestion Tony -- Its amazing how many folks I know that eliminated their wet basement problems by simply adding the proper gutters and routing that rain water four or five feet away from the house or garage.

Yep, I've looked into that in previous years and the cost is prohibitive because of the lay of the land around the north side of the barn, which is where the shop is located. I may have to just relocate the shop. Groan.

Bummer Dave. And long drain spouts for the gutters wont help? I had an issue in my basement when it rained hard. One side of the house would get moisture on the walls. No puddles ever developed, but it was only a matter of time. I had concrete poured on that side of the house, made a little walk way 2 feet wide and graded away from the house. Solved all my water issues in that area.

That is a terrible shame Dave.

Tony's suggestion of installing a French drain would be a cheap and relative easy fix.

I had great success diverting heavy rainfall away from my back porch with a French drain.
