After a little cleanup and gluing in soundhole(s) protection, these two odd ducklings will be joined to that rim in what I hope will be a harmonious and fruitful union, later today.

The thing with the back bracing is, it looks heavy, but it's very light. I read a lot of theory about that configuration, which of course looks weird to me as well, but I was convinced enough that I thought I would give it a try. I can't help it - I need a 12 step program or something - if I can't try something new once in a while I go a little (more) nuts.
Anyway, I have high hopes for this - the A frame top is light and responsive, though once I glue it on I'll have a better idea if I need to do a little brace shaving.

I had to use 2 soundholes to get the recommended total diameter for the top - necessary because I spread the 'A' further apart than the design really called for.

Cool! That's some interesting bracing you've got there. Looking forward to hearing about the honeymoon, so to speak.

During the debate, I went out to the shop and thinned those back braces severely. The back was light before, now it's lighter, the tap tone brighter and more focused. I just could not stand the bulky look of the thing; not scientific, but the results are definitely better.
The consummation should take place tomorrow.

Wow Dave you are really steppin out there.......and it looks really good. You got alot going on here aside from the norm.
You will have to give us sound bites when this guitar is finished cause we are all going to want to know how it sounds.
