A frame back bracing

Post by Dave Bagwill » Sun Oct 14, 2012 2:06 pm

I'm not actually doing this A frame back; I'm doing something much stranger but that aside, if one wanted an A-frame brace on the back, and the back radius was 15', would the brace necessarily be radiused along its width, not its length?

Radiusing a brace width-wise usually 5/16" or less does nothing but de-grade the glue joint. The wood is simply not plastic enough to take the bend/curve/radius.
