Seems like a good idea - but is it?

This preval spray thingie - looks like a good idea, sprays up to 16 oz. of liquid before needed a $5 replacement aerosol can - anyone have experience with this or have information that can keep me from making a mistake and buying it?

Is it expensive? I recall seeing good things about it for touch ups. Can't recall anyone saying they use it for a whole guitar though.

Cheap. After you use up the aerosol - which delivers about 16 oz. of whatever you are spraying - you need a refill for about $5.
A guitar is not that big; to spray a coat would take how many oz. I wonder?

Just seems like a potential hassle to me. Buyers at Amazon were not happy on average, seems you'd have to make sure the product you were spraying was very thin. I am using Watco lacquer (made by Rustoleum) about $5 per can on-line and even cheaper at Menards. It takes about five 12oz. cans to complete a guitar.

$25 and no clean up hassles sounds like a very good way to go.
By '12 oz' am I to understand that there is 12 oz of lacquer, or is it the volume of lacquer plus aerosol = 12 oz? Probably not a very intelligent question, but raccoons kept interrupting my REM sleep last night so I'm a little off my game...

The reason I ask is, I use Tru-Oil as a wipe-on finish and very happy to do so, and a small 2 oz bottle for $5 does the whole guitar. If the preval sprays up to 16 oz of product, and does it well, then that's enough for 8 guitars except I'm sloppy so maybe 6 guitars + $30, which ain't bad. I've written Birchwood-Casey to inquire how much TO is in their 11 oz spray can.
