I don't do very much business with Harbor Fright, but they have the 7/8" spring clamps on sale.
The swivel pads are 3/8" wide, and the jaws open to.....7/8".
Given the narrow pads, it might take a good number of these to work for linings, but they're on sale- $1.00 for a pack of 6.
Maybe an alternative to putting rubber bands on clothespins? Or not?

I've got a bunch of them and they are handy for a lot of stuff, including linings.
