Goodd to know, Ken. Thats another option for me, and the closest hardware store carries that.
Quick follow up questions:
I'm only going to use sealer for the top (if i've follow this correctly), and the lacquer should adhere to the vinyl sealer just fine, as well as directly to the z-poxy?
And do i let lacquer on the sides of the fretboard? I understand not to get it on the top of the fretboard for sure, but i'm unclear as to whether i should mask the sides of the fret board too.

Yep -- mask off the fingerboard carefully along the edge. The sides of the FB get lacquered, any coating that creeps under the masking can easily be remove during the FB dressing process. I normally do not glue down the fingerboard extension but just the same I leave most of the area free of coating -- just in case the FB estension decide to "go rogue" I can put a dab of glue there to hold it dwon -- BTW as far as I know that has never happended!
