Re: Flat or curved bridge bottom?
I've been using Titebond 'Extend' for my assembly work. More open time and I ain't gonna try to work something I glued till the next work session, anyway. I have no idea whether there is a noticeable improvement in joint strength compared to regular Titebond, but it won't hurt and maybe there's more joint security with Extend.John Parchem wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2026 3:37 pm Both are good glues. Leave the fish glue clamped overnight. The titebond can be clamed for a shorter time but still needs a day to fully cure. Fish glue is both messy and easy to clean up with a damp rag. Torrified wood is slow to absorb moisture, titebond can dry before it bonds. Fish glue has more time. I used titebond with a torrified top but wiped it with a damp rag first. I had no issues.

Titebond and fish glue both do the job. Titebond is thinner and squeezes out easier, but dries yellow.
Fish glue dries clear, but you have to clamp 12 hours and it squeezes out tough.
I like both. For a torrified top I prefer fish glue.
