Oak OM
I've been lurking for a few months and have decided to finally post something. This OM has an Ash neck, Oak back and sides, Englemann top and Ebony fb.

Awesome work. With workmanship like that, you have no reason to be a lurker. Would love to hear a sound clip.

Re: Oak OM
Gorgeous guitar, breathtaking workmanship and attention to detail.
Now I'm NEVER going to post a picture of the oak-b/s, cedar-topped shrunken dreadnought (93% of a Herringbone's dimensions) that I'm in the midst of building. For mine, I fumed the oak and the wood now looks stained. Back's all braced, soundboard is in process, neck's joined together.
Thanks again for sharing this with us. I think it's a superb work of art,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm currently french polishing two more, so I'll post pictures when that never ending job is over.
I'd be keen to see the fumed oak, hopefully it looks less stained under finish. I really liked working with oak, a bit springy when trying to bend it, but otherwise I really liked working with it

Re: Oak OM
Here's an ammonia fumed body in the spray booth now. QS White Oak from my property using 28% ammonia in a poly tent for a week. Color went all the way through the wood. Thought I'd show a shot of the top too, Quilted Redwood.
