Made progress on the top and back
The top is arched, prufling installed, recurve carved, hollowed and F holes cut. It is ready to go.
The back is arched with the purfling installed. Just now beginning the hollowing out.

Pics look great from here. These chisels are available here too. Cannot imagine why these make these handles so ugly and not so comfortable. The grips from Narex or Kirschen are far better.

Re: Violin number 3 has begun!
Herman those are great gouges.
So today I made the bass bar for the top which is carved in a similar way as on a guitar. It supports the pressure from one of the feet of the bridge.
The other side will have a "sound post" that is installed inside wedged between the top and back in the spot that will support the down pressure from the other foot of the bridge.
I also made, bent and glued in spruce linings on the top edge of the corpus. The mold is made in stacked 2 parts so they can be separated at this stage holding the shape while these linings are glued in.
Next the other half of the mold must come out to glue in the back side linings.

Re: Violin number 3 has begun!
So I have installed linings on the corpus after removing it from the mold.
I finished carving the back. I then made and installed the bass bar on the top.
Yesterday I glued the top to the corpus. Today I made labels and put them on the back and glued the back to the corpus.
After some clean up and scraping off glue then ill turn my attention to making the neck

The neck is roughed out to shape and the scroll is pretty much done. So on to carving out the peg box.
It helps to drill some holes first before attacking with the chisels.
