There is a limited supply of sinker logs since California passed a law against harvesting the old sunken logs to avoid disturbing Salmon spawning grounds. I've got a 5/4 x 8" VG redwood board that was one of the bottom boards in my old hot tub. I've got plans to slice it into tops and will call it "sinker" Redwood since it was underwater for 40 years.
