Together with my grandson (8) I am going to make him an easy playing small parlor guitar.
It's going to have nylon strings and ladder bracing to the top.
But: I have no plan, so the questions are: how thick bracing is suitable and where to place the braces?
The oblique brace, is it placed just below the bridge, or on the front or back of it.
Does anyone have such a plan?
Thanks Herman

Re: Ladder braced nylon parlor guitar plan
I have never made one like that, but the early pre torres guitars used later braces. The Guild Of American Luthiers have some plans, but I would just look at the pictures and wing it.

Looks like quite heavy braces. How thin did you made the top?

Re: Ladder braced nylon parlor guitar plan
I never made one a latter braced instrument, but I look at a lot of plans. Given that you are talking about a small nylon string instrument with spruce I would think 2 - 2.4 mm.

That would be my idea too. Thanks mate
