Hey Dave, I bought one a few months ago. I have only used it a couple of times for non guitar stuff. I am pleased with the quality of the build. Whether or not it is worth it I think depends on what you will do with it. I do plan on using it to rough out necks and it seems like it will work well for that. If that were the only thing I bought it for, it still would probably be worth it. There are many ways to carve necks though as you are well aware.

I just skimmed a few videos of this sander in use. I'd have to learn to use a very soft touch, it sure cuts fast. But it looks like it could help roughing out a neck. But price is right and it's its own treat to learn to use new tools.

I picked up a set of these to go with it. Should help me be more of less aggressive depending on which grit I use.
