European - or Italian, or Carpathian or German or some such. It was a generous offer in any case! :-) (I bought a few tops from Herman at a very attractive price)

Maybe Finnish, Hungarian, Crimean? lol
What kind of finish would I put on Finnish??

Cheers mates

Another thought.
I think now that 'parting out' the instrument is a better idea - the damage done by Jamie included the rims on the lower bout and, while I could live with scratching, etc. I have to ask myself - why? Rims and backs are easy to make.
So I have a perfectly good neck, some good braces, a headblock I can re-use, and some measurements I can use for future builds, I think I will save what I can and move on.
