After I retired a few years ago I decided to take up the PSG. Other than playing the accordion when I was a teenager I had no music experience. I'm doing well on the PSG, learning mostly by ear and some Youtube vids. I also play a Dobro and jam regularly with a group of Bluegrass musicians. The banjo picker in the group is a very aggressive picker so you learn to tag along quickly, or go home (lol). The guys I jam with are in two bands (Slim Chance and Gateway Express) and they are all excellent musicians.
I like to build things (Fly Rods, Model & full scale Aircraft) and now an acoustic guitar. Previously I refinished a nice non pedal guitar, which I still have. I think it turned out great.

The guitar was originally painted with Sherwin Williams CAB clear gloss. According to the guitar manufacturer this paint is very durable, non-yellowing and touch ups are easy if & whenever required. I didn't want any paint compatability problems so I ordered in a gallon (smallest amount I could buy locally) of the stuff, which set me back a C-note + some change with tax. The guitar finish was badly stained and very grubby when I got it but there were absolutely no dings other hanger rash on it. I stripped the guitar down completey and applied several spray coats of CAB clear paint. I let it sit for a couple of weeks to gas off and sanded it down progressively with 1500 - 3500 paper. Then I hand buffed the finish with Meguires #9 Swirl Remover and it now shines like a diamond. You'd never know it was refinished.

I like the finish. It's shiny! I don't only build guitars either. I am currently building two full scale humans. I should be done in 16 years if I don't screw up along the way.

As to that side - it's not all that bad :-) - I suggest you grab one end, have a buddy grab the other, and one the count of 3, pull with a quick, snapping motion to straighten it out again and then simply re-bend, aiming perhaps a little higher in the accuracy department. I have a Hogwarts magic wand that would do all that in one step, but you're way out in the Colestine and I'd have to dodge small arms fire just to get there. :-) (that was Southern Oregon humor, for those of you unfortunate enough not to live here :-))
