Sometimes the simplest things can have the biggest effects. Somebodies light bulb really went off.

Interesting idea. I wonder if it is harder to place the hole with the countersink bit. I currently use a brad point bit as I can easily put the hole right were I want it. I think I would start with a 1/16" pilot hole to make it easy to place. For the bridge I have a countersink tool that stew mac sells that indexes to the drilled peg hole and a a stop for the depth.
