Gluing a gibson-like moustache bridge

Post by Dave Bagwill » Tue Oct 16, 2018 6:14 pm

Any hints on gluing one of these to the top? The usual jig I use for Martin-type bridges does not give enough pressure out at the ends of the moustache.
Thanks

How about a vacuum fixture Dave.

I've got one! However, I thought of another way and it's gluing on now. If it pops off tomorrow morning, I will vacuum!
Thanks K.

The other idea to assure even pressure is to use a caul on top of the bridge and either sound hole clamps or a vacuum clamp.

Ditto for what John said. I used a caul that was the same shape & size as the moustache, with a thin cork pad underneath and then the usual bolts.
