Re: Tips
Ensure you have a sharp bit for routing the channel, make sure the final channel is flush/level before glue up, use a strong tape that allows one to pull the binding tight into the channel leaving no gaps, proceed with glue up in short lengths i.e. don't apply glue all the way around one side and then try to tape it down before the glue dries.

Dave
A major step was turning from a Dremel based routing to a vertical routerguide like Stewmac's router jig. After that the perfect fit is depending on my bending skills. (Not perfect yet). Not on the channel.

Re: Tips
I made my own, Dave, from instructions several years ago by "Lillian" over on ANZLF.

Uses parts from 8020.net. I made some design changes and used a HF router (should change over to the Colt). The hardest for me was shaping the donut to ride on the edge of the top and back. Also made a carriage to hold the guitar sides perpendicular to the table top while rotating it under the tower. Works good!
