Those are slick Bob!! So the pearl is only through the top of the binding? Does the end of the pearl shine like the top? Those are some nice looking position markers for sure. The rest of the neck is pretty nice too!!

Where as you use full height side markers, mine are only half the height of the binding (can't find a pic atm). I stick the side bit in first to get the full effect of the shell as a side marker, the top of the marker has a tiny bit of shell end grain on the edge of the fretboard, but this doesn't show unless you put on the 4 x magnifiers :)

I did try mitering the shell pieces when I first started using this technique, but it was so unbelievably tedious and the results were no better.
