Thanks guys! Ziricote is one of my favorite woods. I think it is beautiful.
Moving on with the fretboard, here it is, attached to the neck and sanded. I also pore filled with a dark filler, specifically TimberMate in Rosewood color. I had seen a mahogany neck on a guitar online somewhere and it had dark pores and I really liked it. So I gave my old, unused container of Rosewood Timbermate a try on a small section and i liked it.
I then applied a coat of Danish Oil which is when I took this pic:

I had taken two pics, but one is blurry so I wont post it.
Anyway, hopefully tomorrow I can start with the neck finish, MinWax Wipe on Poly, then its on to wet sanding.
Thanks for looking!

Tony

Tony, your fingerboard is stunning. Did use mostly use a plane to radius it? On other sites I see elaborate jigs being built for routers to radius the fretboard. I have been buying serviced fret boards; seeing yours I am inspired by the design opportunities I have picking my own wood.

I used a plane and a radius block. It didn't take long...15-20 minutes to put the radius on it. I would slice a bit off of the edges, check my progress with the block, plane a bit, check with block, repeat. Much easier than I thought it would be!

Headstock veneer is on and ready for finish. It is ziricote and matches the fretboard with the sap wood edge:

I am loving this guitar and it's appointments!!

Thanks for looking,

I love matching headstock and FB especially when they are uniquely figured!

That is quite cool Tony...what a trip it will be to build a Zircote guitar....is there one in your future?
