Stringsfor Walnut guitar

Post by Woodyok » Mon Jul 24, 2017 8:07 pm

Hi Guys,
Back after some health issues( which happens after you reach 70+).....

I am trying Diadarrio nickel bronze on my first guitar (2009). It is black walnut with red spruce top. I tried nickel wound before and was dissapointed,,, so I'll give the nickel bronze a try. Comments please.

Gypsy (Maccaferri) guitars, with long scales and light strings, usually require nickle wound strings to get their characteristic sound. Is yours this kind? If not, you will probably like bronze or brass better than nickle.
