Rosewood Mineral streaks -- no big deal

White mineral streaks can be handled in a couple of simple ways. Wiping the surface with acetone creates a stain which hides the streaks perfectly. Second method -- and this is really the "bees knees" lemon juice will actually pull out the streaks -- gone! Factories use CLR type cleaner. I would suppose that lemon juice and/or CLR would work on other species as well. And there you have the magic trick of the day.

I've used the acetone on both EIR and on the Santos Mahogany that I have that had mineral streaks. Took care of the issue on both.

Just a warning about using solvents on a completed guitar -- the solvent mixed with the wood oils and resin make a great deep penetrating stain and if care is not taken that can make a real mess on light color bindings.
