Spraying with rattle cans
For a single project, could we depend on spray cans of lacquer to be properly adjusted, right off the shelf?

spraying with rattle cans
I've used the Guitar ReRanch's rattle cans w/great results. No fuss, no muss!
Re: Spraying with rattle cans
These days I use rattle cans exclusively --- Watco is my favorite. RR is Segrave good stuff! but $$$ Behlens and Mohawk are the same product also very good. I like Deft too (its what Teeter used on restorations) but it is not compatible with the Hood Pore Filler I now use. Spray cans for me is all about NO clean-up. No matter how you get the chemical on the guitar it still needs to be leveled and polished.

Re: Spraying with rattle cans
I have a commission due the first week of May so I decided to give rattle cans a go since it is decidedly faster than brushing in terms of application and more importantly, level sanding once all coats are on. I test the spray pattern of each can on some cardboard before I go at the box and so far, each can of Deft I have used has been pretty consistent right out of the box. I am using Deft because the local Lowes carries it. I did however, encounter some blushing issues because I foolishly sprayed a couple of coats on a rainy night. A can of Behlens blush remover worked like a charm to fix that issue and it has not returned since I pay more attention to RH when spraying now.
