To me this is where the comical phrase is totally true

"Don't start vast projects -- with half vast ideas"

To make your life tolerable in the spray finish arena you must have a compressor that exceeds the CFM requirements of the spray gun you plan to purchase. Horsepower is not the issue. The precise constant air flow is needed so that all the adjustments on the gun can be tweaked to provide the exact same pattern, distributing the exact same amount of material throughout the application process. Trust me, its a joy when this level is accomplished.
