Holder for bolt-on neck (with improvements!)
Holder for bolt-on neck (with improvements!)
I made up this holder for when I'm doing the fret shaping, fingerboard cleanup and nut installation. Rock steady and I can use two hands on the fret file.

Nice! There is a small chance - about 99.99% - that I will steal that idea. :-)

You may copy freely. I couldn't live with the guilt if I turned you into a .01% thief!

Re: Holder for bolt-on neck
Nice, is the headstock just resting there or is it being held down some way?
Re: Holder for bolt-on neck (with improvements!)
After some modifications and a little re-working I like this jig even more. I mad the tenon mount moveable on a t-track to allow for different neck lengths and the headstock support pivots to accommodate the angle better.
Kevin - it's pretty stable without, but I allowed for small clamps at the headstock.
Thanks for your comments.
