So - does it sound like a guitar or not? The better test is when it is completely set up, and we will post a vid clip at that point, up and down the neck.

It most certainly does sound like a guitar. And a nice sounding one at that! Nice job.

we've got a little backbow on the neck that I'm working on, then we'll finish up and play a tune.

I will be very happy if the 00 I am currently building (KMG) is going to sound like that.

Ken gave me a tip concerning the backbow. A friend gave me a 1"x48" heating blanket which I plugged into the kmg controller. I laid the blanket on the bench, covered it with aluminum sh

This removed the backbow and gave a very slight relief; the string tension brought the relief up to an acceptable figure.
So I think we are good to go.

Good fix! Just to learn from your experience I have a few questions: How long did you heat it and leave it clamped? Do you think the back bow came from compression from the frets or do you think the wood was not quite stable? Also did you use a one way truss rod?
