Okay, I bent some curly Maple bindings for a 000, all went well.
I do have a question about gunk left on the aluminum.. is that a sign of too much/ little heat, or just inexperience? How do you clean it up?

I always have a damp piece of folded paper towel on the tube, have a spritzer handy --- I have just revealed one of my magic tricks -- enjoy.

Dave, work some shop roll, about 120 grit over the surface, that is what I have done to mine, cleans up but keeps the surface smooth.

Ken, I won't tell a soul, other than people in my shop, and maybe a short vid I'll post on youtube. :-)
Thanks Kevin.
