Thought I would french polish it, ha ha.
I will probably get some neutral danish oil and put a couple of coats on, and call it good

Re: Building a workbench
Very busy weekend, only had a couple of hours yesterday to work on the bench, but I got the ends trimmed....Yah! Placed tape over the line I was going to cut, used my circular saw and made 3 progressively deeper passes down to 2 1/2", then finished off with a hand saw. It came out pretty good with just very minimal hand planing to do. I have two Grizzly cabinet makers vises sitting ready to mount and I made up the chops for the vises also, so I'll be working on getting those mounted this week.

Re: Building a workbench
Only getting a little bit of time this week to work on installing the two vises. One is almost done.
I should get to spend all day in the shop tomorrow, and I'm hoping to get the bench finished this weekend.

Re: Building a workbench
Very nice -- is it going in your living room? You certainly don't want to scratch it up.

Ha ha, no Ken it is not that nice! Gaps in the top, etc. I did the joinery just for the experience. I just wanted a good solid bench. I think I will have that, and yes it is going to get plenty dinged and danged!
Re: Building a workbench
Good work Kevin, my compliments. Now you need an old leather couch (with ashtray) in the shop. Then you have it all.
