reducing soundboard edges

Post by stevem » Sat Mar 17, 2012 11:02 am

I would like to know more about reducing the edges of a soundboard. Is it done to the outside or inside, though I assume that it must be the outside with all the bracing. Are there certain requirement as to which tops are candidates, body size ( in particular small bodies),stiffness. I’ve seen mention of this practice and I would like to learn more about it.
Thanks – Steve

Hi Steve,
I'll be out today -- but plan to post the tutor regarding this procedure soon, it is on the outside. I understand that Wayne Henderson does this to his guitars as well.

That's going to interest me as well, Steve. Glad you brought it up!
