Yes, I have found this to be true. My inspiration to start building was a friend who once frequented the kitguitars forum. His instruments are pretty nice! I helped engineer a recording session where he played his #7.

I no longer lust for any guitar made by anyone else, be it Martin, Olsen, Larrivee. I'm going to make my own.

Hey there, new to this sight......but, I also ordered the plans for the 00-28 from ultimate guitar building. I'm getting ready to close up the box. The plans are great for the body dimensions, details etc. I know I'm new to this, but, the brace dimensions seemed a lil chunky for such a small guitar. I also gathered up as many brace photos for vintage 00's and compared. So, I used the plans for basic lay out, and the photos for shapes, locations of peaks in the scallops and such. So far so good. I will say tho, learning to bend on a hot iron, and with the tight curves of the 00, I was sweating bullets.....and burning hands! Lol.

fwells - Good to hear from you, and we hope you stick around and share your experiences. If I might be so bold, a picture or two of your construction process and finished product would be great.
Again, welcome!

Yeah, we love pictures! And I am interested in your insights re. the plans, as well. I can imagine building a 00 or even a 0 someday, as I seem to be loving the smaller bodies and older styles.

I've had a similar experience bending sides for an OM. I have two sets of sides bent, both needing a little touch-up. Both are locally sourced walnut.

I printed out my 000 plans today (at Medferd Builder's Exchange, as mentioned by Dave) and they look pretty good... I'll spend some time looking at them later this week, after finals.

In light of Fwells' comments, I will be comparing brace dimensions between the stewmac and ultimate plans.

Thanks all, good to be here. I will def post some pics tonight. I have never seen the stewmac plans, I'm sure they are good in there own right. I have always liked the 00 size, has a personality to it. Anyway, after work, I'll get to putting some pics up!
