L-0 and behold
L-0 and behold
Next build is based off the Gibson L-0 template purchased from Ken. Padauk and cedar. I'm planning to brace it according to the layout on the template and I've been trying to find some photos of that style of bracing but have not seen any just like it. I mostly see bracing as shown in the second picture below. A photo helps me with the 3D aspect. If you have built or know of a photo please let me know. It would be appreciated.

That's a sweet looking guitar. I need to investigate making one. John, I like your wood selection and your rosette.
Re: L-0 and behold
So many different bracing patterns on the early Gibsons. I'll stick to simple. Very little contouring or scalloping. Like Ken has said, looks like a bunch of sticks thrown in there. The rosette is just an idea I had that came together quickly. I used random triangles of padauk, purpleheart and koa with thin strips of dark rosewood. I mad a similar tail wedge.

Re: L-0 and behold
Now that is pretty cool!
Re: L-0 and behold
Top braced. Need to do some final sanding. Contemplating if I should put a popsicle brace in to add a little strength. Just seems like it's something that would benefit more than not. Thoughts?
