Your rubber bands look a little light weight are they #64? I usually tie two or three together.

Thanks Ken. You are right, not #64. Searched high & low in my area and couldn't find any. They are #33, two looped together. I had to put a few wraps around the mold post and used a lot of them. It worked, but was a lot more work than it should have been. I'll get the right ones for the next build and try to figure out what to do with the big bag of bands left over. Been giving thought to cutting 1""strips from my PT bands. 6' long, soft yet strong, could just loop from side to side very quickly while glue is still wet. I'll give it a dry run on the next one and let you know what I think.

My wife just brought one of those home from PT today -- nice and rubbery, but I believe you'll much prefer the #64 RB method. If you try it lets know how it works out.

Just a heads up -- I see those foam table/floor etc. protectors you are using for padding. Take care using those in the finishing stages even the gassing off of solvents will melt them and make a mess. I use old cotton bath towels.

Thanks, I appreciate the heads up. They do work well as a non skid padding. Any concerns about working on a cured finish on this stuff?
