Well, apparently the link shows all the photos. Not really my intention, and the order is wrong, but you get the idea. Frustrating trying to do this from my iPad as the instructions on how to post photos show screenshots and buttons I don't see. I'll keep trying or look for an 11 year old to show me how it's done.

It is comming along nicely. I've been struggling with the photo upload and getting my iPad and laptop to do anything right. Rims are complete. Backstrip is in and scraped smooth. This is my first serious use of scrapers and I love it. The rosette is glued and scraped smooth also. Both plates look great. I'm in the middle of a partial remodel at home and have lost a week or more of build days. I hope to start the braces in a few days. Thanks for the encouragement guys.

An overdue update. A shoulder injury had me sidelined for a couple of weeks. Happy to finally be back at it. I decided to make a rosette trim out of some walnut I had. I came up with a steam tube to facilitate bending the tight radius. I had a piece of stainless pipe that I plugged both ends with a cork. I made a needle out of a small brass tube and attached it to a $5 garage sale steam cleaner. Drilled a pressure relief hole next to the needle. Worked like a charm. Bent it around a Taylor soundhole cutout with push pins to secure the parameter. I cut a disk into quarters and used small wedges to press the ring tight for glue up. A little scraping and light sanding and I'm pleased with the results. I got all the braces rough cut and glued in. Started the profile carve today. What a satisfying process that is! About 30 min. for each brace, but I expect to improve as I go. Should be expert at it by the last carve on the last one. I should mention that I went to the LMI annual one day sale and came home with lots of good stuff for future builds. A lot of usable wood for backs and sides, rosettes, wood and plastic purfilling, headplates, lots more, all $5 a pound. Spent $75 for a large box of treasures. Yes, totally hooked.
