A new approach?

Re: A new approach?
I considered the Dazzo before I purchased a Lyric. The Dazzo is still a piezo device, while the Lyric is a condenser microphone - tiny mic that it is. I thought the Dazzo might therefore be subject to the problems of the undersaddle piezos, while the Lyric might share the advantages of an external condenser. I never have heard a Dazzo, but I am quite happy with the Lyric. The guitar it is in, played into a practice amp, sounds like, well, the same guitar without the amp, only louder. I would like to hear what it sounds like on one of the tube amps a friend of mine has, but have not gotten over there yet.
I liked it well enough to get a second Lyric. I intend to install it into a 12-string. I remain in the dark about the Dazzo. Sorry.

That's good info on the Lyric, thanks. In fact it is the next pickup I will purchase.

I use the K&K pure mini ($99). I haven't heard the Dazzo but I have heard many other in many different guitars and still thin the K&K delivers the most accurate acoustic sound. Also, the pure mini can be played in many venues without a pre-amp. I also, recommend the LR Bagg Para Acoustic DI if needed.
I've "Ben-Had" again!

The Dazzo is a triangular shaped piezo in a can -- not new (maybe the shape is patented?) Yamaha has been using the enclosure idea for many years -- I think I have some in my collection, if I come across them I post a pic.
+1 for Lyric, to my ear it does not have the "crunch" of the contact mics. I really like that it comes with tone and volume controls and a mighty fine pre-amp.
