Instructions

Post by Dave Bagwill » Fri Sep 04, 2015 7:35 pm

Just took delivery of a new Wagner sprayer so's I can paint the barn tomorrow.
Haven't read the instructions yet - except this label on one of the parts.
Sentences 1,2 and 3 make sense.
Sentence 4 worries me about the rest of the instructions. :-)

Those sentences appear to be written by lawyers.

Seems they are fairly certain that you are going to destroy a large quantity of brain cells each time you pull the trigger on the unit --- becoming more and more memory impaired each coat applied. Therefore retraining is necessary often -- no?

Right. Also it's good to know that it is for outdoor OR indoor use. ONLY.
So if I am neither indoors nor outdoors, I will have to find another product.

I think that the 'household use only' statement is lawyer-ese to warn the user that the tool is intended for only non-commercial duty, i.e., the manufacturer has a liability escape clause, or hopes he does, if an injury is done while someone is using the tool and charging for the job.

Ah. I wonder if I was to attach it to a small drone, and rig up a remote trigger, if I could paint the barn from the comfort of a beach chair under the trees in the yard, using an ipad?

Or maybe, since neither in- nor - out doors is specified, what they meant to say was: "Use ON doors only"?

I've given this some thought, which is easier than actually painting. :-)
