I can get this for $100, put a soundport where the hole in the side is, set it up nice, maybe bone instead of plastic - do you think it's worth it, to try and resell?

Yeah, I was thinking of re-selling for $275 or so. Probably 2 hrs work and the cost of some bone. Maybe not such a good idea.

Re: Craigslist damaged guitar for sale
If you have a strong emotional attachment to the instrument, that's one thing. I am restoring a '69 Regal at a level it, objectively, does not deserve because of my feeling for a certain event in my youth. I will make some money on it some day, but not much per hour.
But if it is for the money, calculate carefully. Time spent fixing, time spent advertising, time spent with potential buyers. Then there is the time and hassle of negotiating. The owner wants $200, not $100. All those are things we never get back, once expended. (I'm sort of pensive tonight.)

I hear you. I did run $100 past him before I posted, so I know he'll take it. Still...

Re: Craigslist damaged guitar for sale
I looked at it a couple of times, at a $100 you would come out OK money wise. I think your 2 hours is low, as it looks like not just a hole but the whole waist is cracked. The sound hole will be in a really odd place. I see no issue sound wise but it would affect the value.
To make this right you would need to get a shaped veneer patch inside of the guitar, then the cut the sound hole. You would probably need to refinish the sides to get it to look right. For me this repair would be the better part of a day or maybe two. In the end I would still have a damaged $500 guitar that I would be trying to sell in competition with many undamaged guitars. Thus the currents seller's willingness to part with it for $100.
I do not think it is a bad thing to do this, I am only responding to a request for feed back.

I am able to buy new freight damaged "Blueridge" -- something like that would cost 25 - 30 percent of "wholesale" so a retail unit $500, my price is $250 --- damaged unit -- $60-$75
