Re: Dennis & Dave Double Build
Ken, it's just 3M low tack masking tape. I use it to minimize glue squeeze out (I wipe the squeeze out as I go) and to avoid sanding a hard glue joint along the seam. I installed the binding with Duco cement, which I had on hand. It bleeds dark pigment from the Rosewood if you aren't careful. I wanted to avoid that especially on the spruce top.ken cierp wrote: Is that some kind of greenish tape?

Re: Dennis & Dave Double Build
Dave completed the major construction of his guitar today and he's very pleased with how his kit went together (thanks to Ken's instructions). Lacqer will be here during the first week in August and that will allow sufficient time to paint both our guitars before winter sets in.

I neglected to mention that Dave scratch built one other guitar previously. That one took over 30 years to complete (LOL). This one took him only a few months working part time at my place.

I did my first ever fret board inlays (HD 28-V style) and I'm very pleased with the result. Grizzly had the diamond inlay sets on sale for $5.00.

Got my 28V ready for chemical finishing today. This project went together beautifully.
