Maybe.....I've not worked with the stuff, though. I have a request into Andy dePaul to see what a red abalone ring (not laminated) would cost.

Well, dePaul says 4-6 weeks for delivery, so that option is out.

So I reckon my choices are down to straight pieces of abalone, broken up, or abalam?

Interesting:

"Abalam (aka Abalim) is a recognized demon in the pantheon of Hell. He is an assistant to Paimon, King of Hell.
The Last Exorcism (2010) - FAQ - IMDb
www.imdb.com/title/tt1320244/faqInternet Movie Database"

Sorta.

Anyway I would have to be 'possessed' to pay 60 bucks for a small sheet of the stuff (LMII)! Though it is gorgeous.

Dave,
Give this guy a mail, maybe he has something.

He is fast and friendly. He offered me total payback when he sent me three rosettes that were abalam, but advertised as abalone pearl. I decided 50/50.
The abalam is very nice under a finish, but be sure to lay it in dead flush. There is little sanding area.

Herman, have you seen any of those rosettes in the flesh? They look to be very precisely made, they are not expensive considering the complexity of the designs, and the designs themselves are good. My question is, do they really look as good as they photograph?

John, I only had three of these:

The title says pearl. But the little digits tell it is laminated.
The were actually nice cut. Usable for sure. But in close view, obviously laminated.
From a distance just beautiful.
