I would call DePaule Supplies http://www.luthiersupply.com/ at 541 607 8971.
I have seen straight pieces of albalone broken into a rosette. It can be made to work. But that is a tight circle

I don't have straight pieces, that's the problem. I have 4 pieces that fit end to end to form a circle that is too large. Nothing straight.
Thanks

I get it, :) maybe you can get DePauls to cut some for you. When I was suggesting straight I was suggesting a product you can buy, not suggesting you work with what you have.

Re: where to get abalone with different radius
With abalone, you get by with breaking and forcing into the channel because there are many visual distractions due to the contrast levels within the product. If you try it with mother-of-pearl, it won't work. (Unless you are a Post Modern artist who prefers disorganization over harmony.)
