Yeah the sides were bent, as I understand it, with a venetian cutaway for a larger bodied instrument - the cutaway cracked a lot. I fixed all the cracks and turned the venetian into a semi-Florentine, or, in Herman's colorful phrase, a castrated Florentine. Which may raise the pitch quite a bit :-)
There were some height and slope issues that I had to compensate for but it look like it might work.
(I hope that 'bite me' translates ok so the big H doesn't think I'm mad.....
