Sure and I have done that a number of times, in fact that's how Brian Burns taught me to do it. If you want to do both sides at once, however, you do need two forms at least 4 1/2" wide, that's a lot of 3/4" mdf. This way I have one form, but use all those clamps. Either way it is very easy.

Here's a mold/form design I had thought about selling -- too labor intense for our shop but really nice and solid. Can be covered with metal furnace tape to use with a heat blanket. The construction trick is the special super bendable plywood I purchased from the east coast.

Excellent. That would work very nicely with a vacuum set up as well.

The hollow "solid mold" looks like a very good idea.

I did have to pre-bend the plywood just a little to get it to conform to the waist curve, they sell another product called Wacky wood that is not as flexible.

Somewhere on the forum I posted a pic of a mold I made using bendable plywood. I need to get some more.

Along with the sitka/maple "Terz", I decided to use some odds/ends to try another shape, and came up with a 001/2-14. It has the same lower bout as a 000, but is curvier than a 00, and what the hey why not do a cutaway? The sides were donated to me as they cracked when someone was trying a new shape; the top is just an oddball that I had ordered, that got here with a number of problems, some of which I can eliminate through judicious trimming down to size, and one problem - the soundhole area - I could reinforce and I think it will work.
I think I'll try the Dolphin + 1/2 bracing scheme.
Anyway it will be a fun diversion as I devote most of my time to the Terz.
