Ah, nice. You can't tell it's laminated from the outside, at least not from the picture. I might try something similar in my next build. I think it might look good (or maybe not?) to use a black/white/black veneer laminate to match the purfling I use.

It's a B/W laminate approx .055" thick.

Niiiiice!!! I'm a fan of soundports for some time. Around here I see more and more of them. Next to the advantages soundwise, it gives an extra opportunity to stand out artisticly. You do well here.

How do you determine the size of the sound port? Is there a guideline to follow in terms of sound port area vs. body volume? Or do you calculate the size using the LAR algorithm?

I don't get too technical. In theory the box is nothing more than an air pump, similar to a speaker enclosure and the same sound principles apply. I try to keep it in the 1.5" to 2" range centered between the kerfing so that it LAR:) This one is about 2" long and 1.75" at it widest.
