The instructions mention that a few passes be made at a shallow height and depth then the final finish adjustments and cut -- I sure hope that's what you are doing

I practiced on scrap until I felt comfortable and the got to the depth and height I wanted. It came out well, however I will take shallow cuts first when I do the top.

Awesome!

One thing I've been meaning to add to the instructions is that it is better to have the channels a few .000 deep as opposed to the other way around. That way the binding will not get shaved down and look/be uneven varying in thickness after scraping and sanding.

Just got back from a little r&r in Florida (with a little spring training action). Routed the top and installed bindings and purfling. It's not nearly as difficult as I originally thought. Scraped and sanded it down and very pleased. Started on the frets this evening. I had a decent size chip out one one fret but was able to super glue it back in and sand it out. Can't even see it.
